Video Mapping Festival 2026
Video Mapping Festival 2026 — 9th Edition
April 10–11 (Lille kickoff) + Regional Tour through October 2026
The Video Mapping Festival returns for its 9th edition, transforming the Lille and Hauts-de-France region into a canvas for international projection mapping artists. The festival uniquely combines competition, residency, and touring — making it one of Europe’s most comprehensive projection mapping events.
What to Expect
- International projection mapping competition — professional and student categories
- Artist residency programme — selected artists create site-specific works on architectural façades
- Building-scale live mapping across historic venues in Lille and surrounding cities
- Awards ceremony recognising the best projection mapping works of the year
- Regional touring — works travel to multiple cities through October
VJ Technology in Use
Artists competing and exhibiting use MadMapper, Resolume Arena, TouchDesigner, and high-lumen Barco and Christie projectors for architectural-scale mapping.
Why It Matters for VJ Culture
The Video Mapping Festival is one of the few events exclusively dedicated to projection mapping as an art form. Its residency programme provides production support that enables artists to create ambitious large-scale works that push the boundaries of what’s possible with light on architecture.
