The LightLine of Gotham is a groundbreaking architectural projection mapping work by UK arts and technology collective seeper, created for the closing party of the inaugural Vimeo Festival and Awards in New York City in 2010.

The project used Frank Gehry’s iconic IAC Building on the West Side Highway — and coincidentally Vimeo’s own headquarters — as a multi-storey canvas for a spectacular light and content installation that turned the building’s sinuous white facade into a shifting, animated landscape.

At the time of its creation, this was one of the first major projection mapping works staged in New York City, introducing the art form to new audiences at a moment when it was just beginning to capture global attention. seeper’s technical execution and visual design set a benchmark for what architectural projection could achieve in an urban context.
